What is Psychodrama?
Psychodrama is creativity, spontaneity, and connection. Many describe it as magical or powerful. We think of it as transformational.
A little history….
Psychodrama emerged in the early 1900s through the vision, ideas, and creativity of Jacob L. Moreno. Known for his creative genius, JL Moreno combined his two greatest passions, theatre and psychiatry, with a vision that he could develop a way to heal society as a whole. He believed in the healing powers of creativity and spontaneity, and that growth happens when we can connect with others through empathy and acceptance. Throughout his lifetime he used psychodrama practices to work with marginalized groups of people throughout Europe and the US. Later in his career, his treatment approach was widely accepted in the US as a powerful therapy treatment for a variety of mental health issues.
